Import a file
- 1Export your rundown from your spreadsheet as a .csv file (in Google Sheets or Excel: File → Download / Save As → CSV).
- 2On the controller, open the More menu and choose Import rundown (CSV).
- 3Select your file. TimedFlow parses it and shows a preview of the segments it found.
- 4Review the preview, resolve any warnings, and confirm. Each row becomes a timer in your rundown.
Recognized columns
You don't have to match an exact template — the importer recognizes the header names spreadsheets tend to use and maps them for you:
- Title — also Name, Segment, Item, Session, Cue, Talk, Agenda item. This is the only required column; a row with no title is skipped.
- Duration — also Time, Length, Minutes, Runtime, Allotted.
- Speaker — also Presenter, Host, Talent, Who.
- Description — also Details, Summary, Abstract.
- Notes — also Note, Comments, Remarks, Internal notes.
No header row? Still fine.
If the file has no recognizable header, the importer treats the first column as the title and the second as the duration, and tells you it did so.Duration formats
Durations are read the way people write them in a rundown, so you rarely have to reformat anything:
45:00or1:30:00— mm:ss and h:mm:ss.45— a bare number is read as minutes, because that's how rundown sheets are written.90m,1h 30m,300s— unit forms with hours, minutes, and seconds.
If a duration can't be understood, that segment defaults to five minutes and the preview flags it — so a typo never silently produces a wrong time.
Preview before import
Nothing is added until you confirm. The preview lists every segment the importer built, along with warnings for skipped rows, unreadable durations, or a missing duration column. Read them, fix the source file if needed, and re-import — or accept the sensible defaults and go.
Mind the free plan limit
On the free plan a room holds up to three timers. If your CSV has more rows than you have slots left, only the rows that fit are imported. See Plans and limits to lift the cap.Export back to CSV
Round-trip your rundown
The More menu also offers Export rundown (CSV), which writes your timers back out with the Title, Duration, Speaker, Description, Notes columns. Use it to back up a show, share the running order with a co-host, or hand a producer a clean copy — then re-import it into another room whenever you need to.
