How to Recover an Event That Is Running Behind Schedule

Measure cumulative drift

Add current drift to the baseline schedule, then subtract recovery time that can genuinely be used. If the event is 12 minutes late with 15 minutes of protected reserve, the published finish is still recoverable and three minutes of reserve remain.
