The Pomodoro technique is a time-management method that uses 25-minute focused work sessions separated by short breaks. After every 3–4 sessions, you take a longer 15–20 minute break. It helps maintain deep focus while preventing mental fatigue.
Most people aim for 8–12 Pomodoros per day. This equals about 4–6 hours of highly focused work, which is the upper limit for sustained deep work for most knowledge workers.
This timer follows the classic 25/5 structure. If you need a custom duration, check out our deep work timer (90-minute sessions) or the 52-17 productivity timer.
